Gillingham Injury Blow For Loan Pair

By on December 3, 2013

Gillingham have lost the services of loan player John Mousinho after he returned to his parent club Preston North End.

The midfielder has been ruled out for over a month with the hamstring injury which forced him off in the first half of Saturday’s 4-1 defeat at Rotherham and is now back at Deepdale undergoing treatment.

Mousinho made six appearances at the League One club since his arrival at the start of November and was due to remain at Priestfield until January. His injury and subsequent departure comes shortly after Elliott Hewitt was also forced to cut short his loan spell and return to his club Ipswich with a fractured ankle.

Full-back Elliott missed Saturday’s game at the New York Stadium altogether and will also face around a month on the sidelines. He only joined the Gills in mid-November and was due to remain with the Kent side for a month.
