Hartlepool Extend Matty Dolan’s Loan Spell

League Two side Hartlepool United have reached agreement to extend the loan spell of midfielder Matty Dolan for another month from Middlesbrough.

The 20-year-old Boro academy product has been a regular for the Pools, his home-town team since first arriving at the club in late August, scoring once in 10 appearances. Pools boss Colin Cooper told the club’s official website: “Matty was a player I was always interested in bringing to Victoria Park and we’re delighted that he’s going to be staying with us for at least another month.”

Dolan began his career with Middlesbrough and was awarded a four-year professional contract with the club in July 2010. On 4 January 2013, Dolan joined then League One club Yeovil Town on a months loan deal, but only managed five appearances with Yeovil in his first spell on loan before returning to the Riverside due to injury. Dolan later unexpectedly returned to Yeovil for a second loan spell on 27 March, this time until the end of the 2012–13 season. Dolan appeared as a second half substitute in the 2013 League One play-off Final as Yeovil beat Brentford 2–1 to secure promotion to the Football League Championship.

Hartlepool-born Dolan is expected to be in the starting line-up at Scunthorpe on Saturday as Pools bid for a sixth straight win in all competitions.
