Mixed emotions after successful start to the season…

By on August 28, 2013

There were contrasting expectations in the Barnet camp in preseason with some arguing that the club had found its level whilst others were looking forward to a cruise straight to the top whilst some even suggested that it could be a very tough season. (New Home, New Hope For Bees Despite Relegation)

With the club top of the table after five games, beating newly promoted Chester fc 3-0 on the opening day as well as picking up three points against Gateshead and Braintree whilst being matched by Nuneaton and Tamworth. The vast majority of the clubs supporters are now optimistic for what remains of the season however there are still a number of supporters who remain somewhat more grounded arguing that the bees have been broken into non-league gently and that there are tougher tests coming up which may still give the bees a nasty shock…

There is a totally different atmosphere around the club with their being a much more positive atmosphere around the brilliant hive complex with the club having high hopes rather than just aiming for survival from the off and with the introduction of a number of promising youth players some are even hinting at the possibility of a double promotion, with their being less of a class gap between league two and league one than league two than the conference. The club have certainly taken the right approach with teams like Luton town proving the longer you stay in this league the harder it becomes to get out of it and the more you can slide down the league, just look at Stockport county.

Whatever the results of upcoming games I think it will be a rollocoster ride as always for bees fans but hopefully a more enjoyable one this time round.
