Jacob Hazel has returned to League Two side Chesterfield after a successful loan spell with Norwegian club SK Sprint-Jel0y.

The teenage striker scored 17 goals in 14 appearances as SK Sprint-Jel0y narrowly missed out on their league title by a single point. Under the terms of the loan agreement between the two clubs, Hazel will not be allowed to play for the Spireites until January but he is hoping to be involved once he is eligible.

19-year-old Hazel told the official Chesterfield website: “I want to get my head down here now, work hard and try get in the manager’s plans in January.”

Hazel was a regular scorer for Chesterfield’s youth side, scoring more than 20 goals in each year of his scholarship. He has also had loan spells with Matlock Town and Workington. Chesterfield officials were so impressed with Jacob Hazel’s stint at Conference North side Workington, they have recalled him for their final game of the season.

He made his Spireites debut in a 2-1 win at home to Oldham Athletic in the Football League Trophy on 4 September 2012, coming on to replace Scott Boden in the 64th minute. Four days later he made his league debut in a 2-2 draw away to York City.
